Adobe: AI Agents for Photoshop and Premiere Pro

Adobe has announced the development of new AI agents for Photoshop and Premiere Pro that can suggest ways to edit photos and videos and automatically perform the necessary actions. According to Ely Greenfield, CTO of Digital Media at Adobe, the goal is to make it easier to start creative projects.

Editing with Photoshop's Creative Agent

Photoshop is getting a new “creative agent” that will work through a revamped Actions panel. This panel will offer editing suggestions based on analysis of the image content – such as removing people in the background or creating depth of field through blurring. The user can simply click on the suggestion and the action will be performed automatically.

Traditionally, Photoshop users had to spend time on masks, layers, and manual interventions. With the help of artificial intelligence, these complex processes are made more accessible, either through suggestions or natural language. In a video example, the agent cleans up the image, adds a text box behind a person, and organizes the layers automatically.

AI Agent also in Premiere Pro

In Premiere Pro, Adobe is building on its recently introduced Media Intelligence feature that analyzes video to quickly find scenes and objects. In the near future, Premiere’s creative agent will be able to create rough cuts, suggest takes, adjust colors, mix audio, and more.

Adobe will officially unveil the technology behind the first AI agent for Photoshop at Adobe Max in London, on April 24.
