Adobe today announced the release of two new AI image creation models, Firefly Image Model 4 and Firefly Image Model 4 Ultra, further enhancing the capabilities of the Firefly platform. The base model delivers faster performance, realism, and greater user control, supporting resolutions up to 2K and customization across styles, sizes, and angles. The Ultra model focuses on complex scenes with high-precision detail.
New features in the Firefly app
The new models are available through the Firefly web app, which now supports text-to-video and vector graphics conversion tools. At the same time, Firefly Boards, a collaborative moodboard creation tool using genetic artificial intelligence, was introduced, which is in public beta. In addition, Adobe announced the upcoming release of the Firefly mobile app for iOS and Android.
Third-party AI model integration and updates to Creative Cloud
The Firefly platform now allows you to choose between third-party AI models, such as OpenAI’s GPT and Google’s Imagen 3 for images, as well as Google’s Veo 2 for video. At the same time, Creative Cloud Photoshop and Illustrator apps have been updated with new tools, including improvements to color adjustment, object selection, and an enhanced Actions panel in Photoshop, as well as new shape filling and pattern creation tools in Illustrator.
